Mike Liagre was a guy five years ago that would have said "where can you ride a mountain bike around MI?" Today he is actively involved in the advocacy of mountain bike trail preservation as a trail coordinator for Ruby Campground located near Port Huron, in MI. He's motivated by the year-to-year statistics that depict the evolution, awareness & growth of the sport throughout MI. Due to the results of these statistics, Mike has over the course of the last FIVE years, been aggressively trying to find new & dynamic approaches to create a greater awareness to the sport of mountain biking here in MI.
In an effort to support existing promotion companies already in MI regarding cycling, he took it upon himself to reach out to a new demographic of people in the Port Huron area. By doing so, Team Sandbag was created in 2005 as a "FUN", family oriented group of people who practice the "LEAD BY EXAMPLE" mentality, in hopes of drawing new people to the sport of mountain biking.
Since then, Team Sandbag has grown to approximately 40 members strong and continues to encourage family and community interaction. A board of individuals was created to start managing the teams affairs for 2008 as they go for their nonprofit status. This has allowed Mike an opportunity to expand his vision for the sport.
Through making videos for him & the team Mike saw an opportunity to use his talent & passion for generating awareness & demand for the sport. In April of 2007 Mike founded the beginnings of a small grass root video production company he later named Masher's Media.
With a focus on the "GRASS ROOT" sports that take place everyday around us in MI. Masher's Media wants to show case the "WEEKEMD WARRIORS" who risk it all for their own rewards!
Masher's Media wants to become a house hold name around MI w/in the next 5yrs, offering nothing but the most personal and affordable services. We want to continue taking on the challenge of new projects while striving to bring our videos closer and closer to that corporate production studio quality.
